About the Event
National associations and peak bodies are vital to advancing a successful United Kingdom. They represent the pinnacle of an industry, profession, sport or special cause in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Without a national association, a sector is voiceless.
Whether a national association is a federation with regional bodies as members or is a direct membership organisation with thousands of individual members, being ‘nationalwide’ presents its own opportunities and challenges.
This is a special opportunity for discussions at the CEO and Chair level on governance, services, operations, power and money across diverse UK nations and demographics. From debating approaches to lobbying, choosing conference venues and ways to engage with members and sponsors – this event is a key forum for UK national associations.
National Associations Dialogue is a collegiate meeting of CEO’s and Board Chairs to discuss governing and running an association in our island nation of 60 million inhabitants.
Topics to be addressed include:
1. Structures of National Associations
2. Articles – What Should Be In Rules and What Shouldn’t
3. Strategic Plans – the CEO’s Permission to Act
4. Harmonious CEO and Board Relations
5. Delivering Valuable Services to Members Nationally
6. Finances, Revenue Generation and Reserves
7. Staffing to Achieve Results
National Associations Dialogue is interactive with tailored discussions to address issues raised by attendees. Most 90-minute sessions will be 30 minutes of information, 30 minutes of group analysis and 30 minutes of outcomes.
The facilitator will be John Peacock AM, an association thought leader who has presented to associations in 17 nations. John is Director of Governology.
