About the Event

Disciplining members is a challenging aspect of running an association or charity. Whilst most membership bodies seek new entrants, sometimes it is necessary to seek to discipline or remove a member. Getting this right requires knowledge and the correct processes.

This webinar will discuss:

  • What comprises misconduct

  • Who has authority to remove a member: the Board, membership or another?

  • Understanding your Articles’ disciplinary provisions and relevant By-laws

  • The need for procedural fairness

  • Avoiding common pitfalls and minimising reputational risk
