About the Speakers

John Peacock AM

Director - Governology

John is an international advisor to associations and charities, specialising in governance, mergers, and strategic planning. John Peacock is a highly experienced international advisor to associations and charities and is a thought leader for the associations sector. Since 2000, John has trained and consulted to hundreds of associations and charities, large and small, on strategic planning, governance, board effectiveness, operations, restructuring, financial issues and external reviews.

His particular areas of specialisation are governance, mergers of associations and developing association plans. John has presented to associations in 17 nations.

Rachael Watts has played a leading role in the Companies House Transformation and the major changes including introduction of new powers, identity verification and register of overseas entities.

Ilora Finlay

Baroness Finlay of Llandaff, FRCP, FRCGP, FLSW, FMedSci and President - Chartered Society of Physiotherapy

Baroness Finlay of Llandaff is a Crossbench member of the House of Lords and President of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy. Through her work in Parliament and with professional bodies, she has played an influential role in shaping healthcare policy, public affairs, and the governance of membership organisations across the United Kingdom.

She brings a unique perspective on leadership, representation, and the importance of organisations engaging effectively with policymakers and wider society.

Jonathan Geldart

Director General - Institute of Directors

Jonathan was appointed Director General of the IoD in October 2019. He spent 30 years working in the professional services sector, most recently at Grant Thornton International, where he was responsible for the organisation’s interest in China.

Outside of work his interests include hill walking and fell running. He was a rally team navigator for 20 years, and following two years of training in extreme environments, walked to the North Pole in 2006.

Lyle Andrew

Lyle Andrew is the first Chief Executive Officer of the Institute of Highway Engineers, bringing extensive experience across the highways, infrastructure and professional membership sectors.

A Fellow of IHE, Lyle has held senior technical, commercial and leadership roles throughout his career and is focused on strengthening governance, supporting professional development and delivering value for members.

Dr Sheila Kondaveeti

Chief Executive Officer & Director - IRATA International

Dr Sheila Kondaveeti brings extensive experience in governance, strategy and international membership organisations. With a background spanning leadership, operations and stakeholder engagement, she has worked with diverse teams and organisations globally, supporting growth, professional standards and effective governance.

She is focused on strengthening IRATA International’s global reach and delivering value for members across the industrial rope access sector.

Graham Henley

Chief Executive Officer - International Association of Oil & Gas Producers

Graham Henley has served as Chief Executive Officer of IOGP since 2023, leading an organisation representing almost 100 members. Previously, he held senior international and headquarters roles during a career with Shell, including responsibility for a US$35 billion project portfolio and the company’s global engineering and projects functions.

He is a former Chair of IOGP’s Engineering Leadership Council, an IOGP Board member, a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, and an OSRL Board member.

Kit Sturgess

Chair of Trustees - Cats Protection

Kit has 25 years of governance experienced as a charity chair and non-executive leader. He has served as chair of trustees at major charities, held senior elected office at a statutory professional regulator, worked with a variety of not-for profit organisation and local government.

Kit has worked with organisations of various scales with annual incomes varying from £10K to £100M. Alongside his voluntary work Kit has been a practicing veterinary surgeon for 40 years.

Raniya Dass

Senior Consultant - Governology

She has over 5 years’ experience in the legal industry across various legal areas including property law, wills and estates, litigation, criminal law, leasing, family law, workers compensation, personal injury and commercial matters. Most recently, she was a paralegal for the Australian Red Cross Society.

She also obtained practical experience in governance and drafting constitutions in her former role as the Sydney Campuses Director for the University of Wollongong’s Law Students’ Society.
